ColorClone Studio in Action

Watch our full video walkthrough!

How ColorClone Studio Works

1

Shoot your Camera Tests

Shoot an exposure sweep of your desired color chart with both cameras you want to match under the same lighting conditions and in the same position.

We recommend -5 stops to +5 stops and at least 10-bit footage.

Process the footage into single frame stills and export them as a .EXR, .TIFF, .PNG, or .JPG.

1920x1080 px is sufficient - there is no need to go higher.

2

Upload Camera Tests/Charts

Upload the single frame stills from your camera test/charts of the two cameras you wish to match.

We currently support .EXR, .TIFF, .PNG, and .JPEG.

.DPX are currently not supported.

3

Select Color Coordinates

Specify the dimensions of your color grid and align the white markers to the corners of the color chart.

Multiple color grids may be created for different parts of a single image -- feel free to mix and match as long as the grid coordinates match the chart grid.

This only needs to be done once per camera test. The same grid pattern will automatically apply for all other exposures.

4

Create your Camera Match

With the camera test and color coordinates created, simply "Create Match" by selecting your Source Camera, Output (Target) Camera, and LUT resolution.

Allow the model to train and once completed, download the LUT!

5

Test and Iterate

Your first LUT might not deliver perfect results, and that's perfectly normal — this is an iterative process.

While we try to give you the best results with your given data possible, it's not possible for us to control how you captured your tests, lenses, color samples, and all the other variables involved.

There's a creative element in how you sample colors and utilize ColorClone Studio, so feel free to experiment and refine your approach for the best outcomes.
